Progressive O&P is a VA Certified Facility. We have an excellent working relationship with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and we honor and respect what the VA does for veterans.
The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC)
Progressive O&P is accredited by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. (ABC). The mission of the ABC is to establish and promote the highest standards of organizational and clinical performance in the delivery of orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic services. The ABC advances the competency of practitioners, promotes the quality and effectiveness of orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic care, and maintains the integrity of the profession. The ABC fulfills this mission by:
- Administering certification and other credentialing programs
- Establishing standards of organizational performance
- Mandating Professional Continuing Education to maintain competency
- Administering a Professional Discipline program
- Communicating the importance of ABC credentials
Our practitioners all hold ABC certification in their respective disciplines and these ABC-certified professionals provide all patient care.
The American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP)
Progressive O&P’s practitioners are also members of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, an organization dedicated to promoting professionalism and advancing the standards of patient care through education, literature, research, advocacy, and collaboration. “The Academy” is the premier scholarly organization in the orthotic and prosthetic field and regularly sponsors numerous educational courses and seminars.
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA)
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) is a national, non-profit amputee consumer educational organization representing people who have experienced amputation or are born with limb differences. The ACA includes individual amputees, amputee education and support groups for amputees, professionals, family members and friends of amputees, amputation or limb loss related agencies, and organizations. Progressive O&P is a Facility Member of the ACA.
The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA)
Progressive O&P is a member of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA), a trade organization dedicated to the professionalism of O&P providers in the United States. AOPA sponsors a yearly week of educational seminars and showcases products and technical demonstrations from around the country and the world. Progressive O&P is a Facility Member of the AOPA.
The National Amputation Foundation (NAF)
Since 1919, the National Amputation Foundation (NAF) has provided assistance to armed service veteran amputees. Recently, the National Amputation Foundation had broadened its mission to assist not only veterans but civilian amputees as well. Progressive O&P is a proud supporter of the NAF since our inception ten years ago.
The National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics & Prosthetics (NAAOP)
The NAAOP, of which Progressive's own Dan Bastian is a Board Member, has a mission of advocacy, education, and unity that has shaped a 31-year history of positive results in healthcare legislation and regulation. NAAOP invites all those participating in comprehensive O&P patient care to become informed, involved, and join in our mission to educate the public and promote public policy that is clearly in the interest of the O&P patient.
The Eastern Amputee Golf Association (EAGA)
Golf is the #1 sport played by amputees around the world. Progressive O&P proudly sponsors the Eastern Amputee Golf Association’s (EAGA) annual Long Island Classic amputee golf tournament, featuring some of the best amputee golfers in the country. All amputees are invited to participate, regardless of ability or experience, and the tournament serves as a great learning experience for new amputees or new amputee golfers.
