Ottobock X3 Microprocessor Knee

Ottobock X3 Microprocessor Knee

In 2016 our own Dan Bastian became one of the first amputees in the United States to be fitted with Otto Bock’s new X3 microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knee and shin system.

The X3 has all of the advantages of its predecessors, the military-spec X2 and the civilian Genium knees, but it takes prosthetic technology to new heights.

Among its improvements over the X2 and Genium is that the knee is waterproof.  That’s right… a prosthetic knee that walks as well in the sand and water as it does on land!  The X3 represents a breakthrough for active above-knee amputees.
