Melissa Antonucci, LCSW-R

Progressive O&P is proud to introduce Melissa Antonucci as the newest member of the professional staff, joining us April 2014. She will be the first and only Licensed Clinical Social Worker to work solely with an Orthotics and Prosthetics practice on Long Island. Over the course of her career, Melissa has worked with individuals with various diagnoses providing support and guidance. Her areas of expertise include children, adolescents, and young adults. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with individuals who suffer ailments from stroke, brain cancer, and neurological disorders, as well as with substance abusers and amputees.

My goal is to help people become the best possible version of themselves they can be.

Melissa earned her BA in Psychology from The University of Maryland in 1997 and earned her Masters of Social Work from New York University in 1999. Throughout her career she has worked for North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System, independent agencies and once owned her own private practice. Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-R Privilege in New York State and SIFI certified.

With 18 plus years experience in social work, Melissa is passionate about helping her patients. She lives by the code that her job is to carry the weight of the crisis for the people she helps. Her extensive experience is what allows her to support clients and act as their advocate.
